We are seeking a skilled, reliable general laborer to join our growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting contractors, operating heavy machinery, and following all site health and safety regulations. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
General Labor Duties and Responsibilities
· Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
· Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
· Consult with construction plans
· Able to read a tape measure
· Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
· Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
· Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn
· Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
· Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches
· Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed
· Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
· Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly

Series Planning Engineer (Assembly)
Reports to: Manager Series Planning

Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision this positions ensures proper implementation and communication in a controlled and standardized approach for product, process, and people related changes resulting from product change and continuous improvement activities by using the four-step model (Plan-Do_Check Act).

Essential Functions:

Reviews new product design impacts through the Change Management System (NCM / KOMO/ PAEV) process and provides feedback on process time analysis and investment requirements.
Reviews product design impacts and prepares product change information packages for implementation and communication with Process Engineering and Production including, but not limited to Build Sequence,
Additional Process steps, Line balance, Tooling, Equipment, Jigs, Fixtures, Production aids, Part Presentation, error-proofing, ergonomics, training.
Prepares Model Year and Body Style Change impact studies for our project teams in Tuscaloosa and Germany.
Provides implementation timing to Production Control for Product Changes (PEMs) and Production Start #.
Provides plant requirements to Development for Design for Manufacturing enhancements (lessons learned) and communization of parts between car models.
Documents required product and process changes in computer based internal system and communicates changes with Process Engineering and Production.
Participates in Daily Process Quality Reviews and provides feedback to Production.
Leads Line Process Coordination Meetings with Process Engineering and Production.
Prepares and participates in product review trials at Technology Center located in Germany (overseas travel required).
Prepares and participates in product and process review trials at Technology Center and/or at US plant for new vehicle planning and/or model year changes.
Supports Production on the shop floor to verify planning and any build concerns during Production Trials, Launch, and Change implementation.
Reviews Line balance data in computer based internal system and prepares plans and workshops for meeting plant KPI targets. Including continues improvement activities,
Creates time analysis and maintains computer based internal system per the departmental guidelines.
Prepares information for Model Year reviews and presents status in meetings.
Provides information for required departmental reports and scorecards.
Organizes internal and external meetings to clarify definition of problems and reports findings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience and Necessary Skills must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or in a related Technical field required, or the equivalent combination Of education and experience.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in an engineering oriented environment with a manufacturing setting, with strong emphasis on project emphasis on project management and process planning,

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.;
Knowledge in PC applications. (WORD, EXCEL, MS Project and Power Point).

Vehicle Technologist Specialist
Reports to: Mgr. Vehicle Technology

Department: Operations (Assembly)

Purpose Of the Position: Under general supervision this position provides technical support and root cause analysis of vehicle electrical systems and components. The primary customers are Assembly Operations and supporting plant engineering groups.

Essential Functions:

Maintain a comprehensive expertise of assigned control units and associated systems function, network BUS, and design changes
Daily root-cause analysis systems and component electrical issues independently or in conjunction with other support groups
Support process audits at suppliers for control unit and electrical component production and testing in the USA, Mexico and European countries
Identify top concerns for areas of responsibility, root-cause analyze findings, develop or assist with short and long term countermeasures. Responsibility to track and trend activity results using Management Reporting System, Problem Solving worksheet, Flip Chart* etc.,
Provide technical support for Assembly, Test Spots, Shipping Line (WSA), Off-line Repair, EAK, CPA or as / where required. (Includes but not limited to: fielding questions from team members, supporting engineers from other departments. vehicle hands-on diagnostics, on and off-line).
Integrated participant in associated meetings and forums: Plant EIE alignment meeting (X-team), Change Management Control (CCT). problem escalation (E3 Patengespraech), etc. as necessary.
Develop personal annual plan in conjunction with Manager, accountable for achieving defined goals
Provide technical assistance and problem resolution re: wiring harness routing and damage.

TEXTILE R & D TEXTILE ENGINEER

The Textile Weaving Research and Development Engineer position is responsible for the implementation of process and communication improvements on the plant floor. This includes the evaluation of specialty products and the optimization of material utilization and process flow. Will also work in a team atmosphere to develop and recommend market strategies that reflect or complement process capabilities.

Must have a bachelor's degree in textile engineering or related field of study

Prefer 3+ years of experience in a textile manufacturing environment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Will evaluate mesh, weave and yarn diameter constructions to improve machine settings that will allow quality and productivity improvements
Will work with design personnel to evaluate construction according to the capability of our machinery
Will develop product knowledge when combined with machine knowledge that will allow improved specifications to be developed
Will communicate specification improvement effectively to weaving technical personnel
Will conduct hands-on machine trials and assist others doing the same to troubleshoot problem looms
Will initiate or assist in the use of problem solving techniques and tools
Will implement process improvements and communication on the plant floor, conduct root cause analysis and research and development to determine process faults and evaluate production of specialty products
Will develop techniques to make process improvements and/or recommend modifications/additions in manufacturing equipment to meet goals and match manufacturing/process capability with product design

Process Engineer

Purpose of the Position:
Support shop operations to facilitate a safe and productive process in accord with the Mercedes Production System.Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position) Develop systems to improve process capability. Identify special process characteristics and their required control limits. Perform, maintain and develop countermeasures for potential failure mode and effects analysis.
Develop the content of TPM inspections to assist in control of the process. Manage process continuous improvement projects for model changes, new technologies, process modifications and cost improvements. Insure process integrity through implementation of MPS. Develop processes and maintain integrity with respect to safety/ergonomics, quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness. Perform process capability studies and audits as required to maintain the highest level of product quality. Investigate process/product problems and implement and verify effective countermeasures working in conjunction with (Group leaders, Team leaders, Team members and SQE, PPS, EVS, PE, PCS and development departments), utilizing the problem solving process. Ensure the optimal condition of equipment and processes. Evaluate work station layouts and prepare standard times which were determined by evaluation of standard and empirical data. Plan and prepare for product changes and their impact on processes, equipment, tooling, etc.
Participate in production trials with appropriate departments and verify closure of concerns. Assist in closing concerns generated from APA audits.
Generate equipment and tooling specifications.
Assist in training for assembly team members, team leaders and group leaders on process changes. Evaluate alternative production processes and assess their viability.

Local Entity Buyer

Purpose of the Position:
The Local Entity Buyer is responsible for providing purchasing services to their internal business partners to ensure simplified, cost effective, and strategic procurement outcomes. Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Partner with internal clients in order to ensure alignment of objectives and to proactively build a clear understanding of the businesses immediate and long range requirements for third party goods and services.

Diagnostic Test Systems Engineer (Entry Level)

Purpose Of the Position:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the creation, maintenance, validity, and efficiency of the vehicle diagnostic testing software used in the static and dynamic testing of the vehicle to ensure the highest quality vehicles are being produced for our customers. In addition, it will be responsible for assigned predesignated control units and/or given areas of testing. Included tasks also consist of content review, testing and limited revision of software delivered by external partners.Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Assist in the creation of new test programs from the bottom up during major model changes
Use continuous improvement to ensure existing test programs and equipment are optimized for maximum efficiency
Perform installation of new testing software packages to testing equipment
Document and track all concerns and actions regarding software changes on test equipment to evaluate and measure the impact of the changes in regards to Quality and efficiency.
Participate in the control unit / test sequence error analysis and develop countermeasures
Investigate process and product problems, implement and verify countermeasure effectiveness
Participate in internal and external software reviews to prepare for product changes and their impact on processes, equipment, tooling, etc.
Evaluate the viability of alternative production and test processes by measuring realized improvement gains in either Quality and/or efficiency
Support the training activities for assembly team members regarding test changes which are created by process revisions, technical changes, countermeasures, continuous improvement activities, etc.
Create and maintain configuration files, directory structures, etc. as required for setup of testing hardware.

Responsibilities of a Forklift Operator:

  • Follow the preventative maintenance program for all equipment including completing all supporting documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in response to changing operating conditions and plant priorities.
  • Safe and effective operation of a forklift in all areas including shipping and receiving, sort line and inventorying materials.

Group Leader

The Group Leader is responsible to ensure all molded and finished production meets established quality control specification by:

  • Ensuring that employees have sufficient job training and information to efficiently perform their tasks in terms of both quality and quantity.
  • Participate in the team effort of the quality control inspector and supervisor to maintain a smooth flow of production parts of the highest quality.
