Logistics Ramp Up Support
LP Services – Vance, Al

Job Description: Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the body shop logistics planning ramp up. Dedicated deliveries planned for the different quality gates and trial phases which needs to be coordinated and tracked from the supplier via staging until the delivery to the point of installation. Daily tracking of incoming deliveries, Part levels and scheduling of delivery and cars will be the daily business as well as preparing the information on management slides.

Project Scope:

Part tracking body shop ramp-up logistics

  • Manage Supplier Releases through model year and engineering changes to minimize obsolesce.
  • Tracking of orderings during the ramp up with continuously communication with supplier and logistics service provider as well as logistics to schedule deliveries
  • Scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries with transportation
  • Track and communicate to cross-functional teams all expedites until fully received.
  • Monitor and correct all advance shipping notices transmissions.
  • Provide on-site supplier training with emphasis on material releases and inventory control requirements.
  • Assist in the investigation of inventory and receipt discrepancies.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies through problem-solving methodologies with cross-functional teams.
  • Review internal database for daily impact; provide feedback, request and analyze root-cause.
  • Provide input for supplier performance KPIs; request countermeasures to delivery issues.
  • Investigate, track, and disposition obsolete material.
  • Preparing of management overviews and status reports of current inventory and processes
  • Planning of delivery/supply chain processes


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Management areas or the equivalent combination of educations/or experience.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment in areas such as Engineering change control, Supply Chain Management or Production Control.

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:

Core Competencies

  • Must have a strong understanding of how functions affect manufacturing processes and production.
  • Must be able to create and analyze data to drive results.
  • Must be able to work and lead a cross-functional team
  • Must be self-motivating
  • Must have strong software skills in all MS office software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

Advanced Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of SAP or comparative software.
  • Charting/Graphing
  • Creating and Presenting PowerPoint presentation
  • Automotive and Ramp-up experience

Preferred Skills:

  • German Language
  • Certification or working knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Ramp-up, Automotive industry, Material Control, Operational Management, Production, Inventory Control
